The Craigslist iPhone 3G Hustle - Get It.
Posted on 20. Apr, 2009 by Meji.
I’m about my online and my offline hustles. You gotta do what it takes to make that money. In one of my other posts I mentioned how people don’t know the value of their own goods - and some people don’t know or are just too lazy to do some basic tech stuff to their iPhones. Well this is where Craigslist and getting on your local hustle comes in.
I recently got an iPhone 3G 16GB off of Craigslist for $375 . Do you know how much they’re going for on eBay? Around $500 to $600 if you jailbreak and unlock it. Thats anywhere from $100 to $200 profit. If you haven’t figured out what I’m getting at already then I don’t know what to tell you. There are many people who don’t know or just want to get rid of their stuff quickly. I know the general concern is - what if somethings wrong with it?
This is just where you have to be smart when you buy. Ask questions (is it still under warranty? How old is it?) - don’t get too excited when you see an unbelieveably low price - and don’t get jumped or jacked either. Heard about the Craigslist killer in Boston yet?
All you need is a little start up capital to buy them, the software to jailbreakand unlock it, and then the ingenuity to sell them and you’re on your way.
Here’s how to get started:
- Go to Craigslist.com and choose your City and State.
- Use the search bar on the left and type in: iPhone
- Look for steals/deals and give them a call.
- Meet them up - inspect - and make your decision.
I’m not going to tell you how to jailbreak it here but Google will definitely hook you up with that knowledge or you can always send me an email.
The other hustle I was thinkin’ about getting on is the iPhone unlocking service. It’s really easy once you get the hang of it.
Make sure you know the difference between a 3G and a 2G an 8GB and a 16GB. Do all your research before you spend a dollar so you don’t waste any money.
Why am I so late? Because I had a G1 and wasn’t interested in iPhones at all. I have to admit though - I’m falling in love with them.

Blog Faster With Google Gears
Posted on 22. Mar, 2009 by Meji.
I’m sure you’ve heard of Google Gears before. It’s pretty cool and does actually speed up the online applications that you keep up with. Remember, it’s only best to use Gears on a home computer or your laptop..not a publicly shared computer.
The video says it a lot better than I could ever say it. I love the way they make their videos. Jazzy music in the background and what not.

Free Hand Drawn Social Media Icons
Posted on 07. Mar, 2009 by Meji.

I told you I love icons. Know what I love more than icons? Free icons. These are hot free hand drawn icons that I think everyone should have their hands on. Janko from Jankoatwarpspeed.com created these “Handyicons” and I just think they’re amazing.
I’m sure we’ve all heard the saying - it’s the little things that count or make the difference or whatever. He has every icon in this kit I want and more - the only one he’s missing to me is a myspace icon. But who cares.
The set has icons for Facebook, Blinklist, Feedburner, Flickr, FriendFeed, Furl, Gmail, Google, Heart icon, Last FM, Linked IN, Magnolia, Newsvine, PayPal, Skype, Sphinn, Twitter, Vimeo, Yahoo and You Tube icons.

Janko is the Hustler of the Week even if I am late.
I’m in Austin for soccer today, wish me luck.

Why You Should Upgrade To Wordpress 2.7.1
Posted on 22. Feb, 2009 by Meji.
I upgraded to Wordpress 2.7.1 and all I have to say is it’s better than my girlfriend. No really, it is. If you are scared to upgrade because you think “it needs time” or something, don’t be. I’m normally like that but this time I decided to try it out. And it was definitely worthwhile.
The features are just amazing. My favorite feature is the quick edit (posts) feature. Say you wanted to change the category on a bunch of your posts (like I did yesterday). Instead of opening all the posts one by one, you click quick edit and it opens up some of the setting of your posts such as your post slug, categories, status, date published and more.
It also very easy to navigate Wordpress 2.7.1. It comes with easy drop down menus to the left of the dashboard so no more clicking around (even though if you had WP Admin Bar plugin you wouldn’t have to.)
2.7.1 also comes with a Tools section and they defintiely come in handy. If you use Firefox or IE WP 2.7.1 also support Googles Gears which will help speed things up by storing certain things locally. You can find more about this here http://gears.google.com/.
Another tool that I love is the built in auto-upgrade unfortunately I have yet to use it but I’m going to check it out one of these days. I still use the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin, but now that I’ve noticed this. Hopefully, I can scrap the plugin. I love the way that they’re slowly making a more and more complete platform.
Want to UPGRADE but don’t know how?
There’s an easy way and a hard way. I’m only going to show you the easy way.
1. Follow this link and download and install this plugin - Wordpress Automatic Upgrade
2. Activate the Plugin. You should see a link closer to the top of the page that says “Click Here to Automatically Upgrade WordPress to latest Version”
3. Click there and follow the steps.
4. If you have problems visit here. You may need to make certain folder writable.
Better functionality and usability. And of course more secure. It’s the way to go if you have Wordpress. Hardly any complaints from me. What do you think about it so far?
