Forget About January – Earnings

When I do business, my tactic is to become as close as possible to my customer. Almost have a personal and friendly relationship with them. Some people believe in the business is business formula, I believe in the business can be fun as long as we’re both benefiting formula.

There are many benefits of getting close to your customers. As i’ve said before, they realize you’re a real person, you do real things, you have a family and priorities. They see that you respect them, and cater to their needs. And you establish rapport with the customer, who in my opinion is a lot more likely to return. Now of course, as you’re doing all of this, you’re still providing top notch quality service, being social is just a plus.

To Nickel and Dime – Means to be extremely cheap/inflexible with your prices no matter the circumstance.

The downside to becoming friends with your customers is that some people mistake friendship and business partners and start asking for free favors or special discounts and what not. It’s happened to me before a few times and I’ve even given a discount or two. In fact, instead of charging one lady repeatedly for a service, I showed her how to do it for a fee. (Give a man a fish, feed for a day, give a man a net, feed him for a lifetime.) 

I don’t think it’s bad for your business if you nickel and dime your customers. You need to be stern with your prices as long as they are reasonable. Don’t get taken advantage of. If a customer is supplying you with quite a lot of business though, occasionally throw in the discount to show appreciation. A little bit goes a long way, you’d be surprised.

Is It Bad to Nickel and Dime Your Customers?

I’m sure we’ve all heard that before. It takes money to make money. It’s sure does. If you’ve been keeping up with this blog you know by now that I’m an advocate for referral hustling. I’ve been doing it for over a year now and have made my fair share with it. Is it easy? No.

In order to become successful at referral hustling, you need to build relationships with people. People are so skeptical about putting their credit card information in on the internet, I still am even though I know exactly what I’m doing. Building relationships doesn’t mean signing onto a random into forum and spamming your ref links. It means actually contributing to the community. Not all of us have that much time on our hands and I was lucky to be a member of quite a few forums (hairboutique.com, 360waves.net,boxden.com) before I started referral hustling.

Now of course like I said in my earlier posts, you can use freebie forums such as freelunchroom.com and anything4free.com, but there is a lot of competition there. The goal is to make money. To spend as little as you can, and make the most right? Well you have two option: you can trade referrals with someone, or you can pay them. I choose the latter because some people aren’t as dependable as you wish.

I pay around $20 per referral. I completed this site in about 3 days. Someone went red so it says 5/6 but I still got paid. $180 dollar profit isn’t to shabby. Great way to start December.
