As a person first, and a hustler next, I think it’s important to build lasting connections with the people I meet online and real life. I know it’s been played out the whole importance of relationships, social media, blah blah, some people always take shit to the next power and over do it and what not but what I’m talking about is simple. It’s about being friendly and approachable, and making an effort to get to know other people and what they are about, teaching them some things you know, and learning what they can teach you.
It’s becoming more of a who you know world, rather than what you know. If you got both then you’re sitting pretty. There are so many examples on a major scale of this but even if you look around you everyday you’ll see it at work. So many people think that they can do everything by themselves, some people can but it’s difficult. I’ve recently gotten into coaching kids football and just finished my FA Level 1 (pat on the back) and through a friend of mine I’ll begin coaching in one of the most innovative coaching programs in London. If I kept to myself all the time, I’d have never met the guy, and therefore this opportunity would have never came to be.
It’s not about using people to get where you need to be. We all have something to offer so be sure to return favors when you can and in the best way possible. You see something you like, reach out, send the person an email, leave a comment, make a new friend etc etc. You never know where it might lead you in the future.

im sorry u know ive been a busy man
Im so glad you posted this, because one trend im noticing amongst black “hustlers” online is their over-aggressiveness and lack of a sense of community and cooperation. Its only lonely at the top when you step on everyones neck on your way up!
I wrote about this in my post called The Barriers to Success.
Great drop, Meiji! Dont be a strnager!
I’m a firm believer on reaching out. If anything, telling someone that you like what they’re doing/writing/wearing/etc. might make there day. So worth it.
Congrats on the coaching opportunity, friend.
Meeting people online has been a life changing experience for me. Ive created friendships, connections, and received very helpful tips & advise on numerous occasions. Im grateful WE came across each other Meji!

I’m always telling my friends the importance of being open and friendly to others. I don’t know if it’s just in my own experiences, but I find us Brits find it harder to put ourselves out there and meet new people.
Anyway…Great post! I’ll definately be adding this blog to my daily reads
