I went out for the first time since February last night. Tried to keep it local so we kept it real and met up by Ealing Common station and had a beer at a bar called The Common (for Common Folk – LOL). It was super late so we decided to take a risk and go to this bar called the Redback Tavern. Cost me a fiver to get in, felt like I was breaking the bank, like come on dawg, free entry?
Anyways, we walked up the street there got to the Redback and got in. It’s pretty crap inside but I didn’t expect to be lounging. This tavern is the Aussie, Kiwi, and South African place to be especially if you want to get drunk for cheap, which most people do. So we had a few rounds of snakebites (good drink & I’m not a big drinker) and hit the dance floor. You know when it gets later on in the night and they start playing cheesy tunes that become permissible after a certain amount of alcohol consumption – it was that time.
The dudes in these places are all built like rugby players – the size of a fully padded NFL player without the pads. Yeah. Big ass dude named Ricky walked up, mad friendly and what not. Cool guy, drunk as all hell, grabbed me and started doing a drunk mans waltz. You don’t want to say no, and get the shi*t knocked out of you so I ended up dancing with a big New Zealander named Ricky for about 5 minutes. He had moves though, all hetero.
It got late so I grabbed a greasy ass kebab and hopped on the night bus. It’s funny the friends you make when you’ve had a few drinks. Random older Irish guy he was f*cked up and was damn near speaking Gaelic to me, I swear. He was telling me how no one in this world gives a fu*k about you – there are only 3 people in this world you can trust: The Man above, your mother and father, and the pound in your pocket. That’s some real talk. Appreciate it Paddy, I never got your name…
Fun night though.
