I Met Johnny Cupcakes Today.
Yoooooo. What’s good famalam? I like meeting cool people. Inspirational people. And today I got to meet one! I don’t personally own a Johnny Cupcakes shirt…wish I did but actually haven’t had the chance to go try them on and buy one. But today while I was with my friends Tiny and Rus aka TPK at another protest (which we accidentally bumped into) we happened to turn into Carnaby Street and see a brand new Johnny Cupcakes store! So we thought we’d take a peek. I spent most of the time inside the store talking to Johnny himself (he happened to be there) which was pretty cool cause it’s like..walking into Apple and chatting with Steve Jobs, but we’re talking premium brands rather than computer software.
It was surprising how to down to earth of a guy he was though. I mean he’s very successful in the game and he was showing us pictures of a guy who walked into the shop with knockoff gear…made in Korea..with tags and everything. He also showed us some pics he was taking of people making funny faces in London that he took as he was walking through. The store is clean and very presentable..It’s quite small but if it were too big it wouldn’t give you the same good vibes. Has some cool gadgets it in it too. I always think it’s pretty cool when you meet the person behind the brand…especially when it’s very very successful. Attitude sells. Anyways….Peace people. Until next time.
Check the pictures I managed to get –
Everything Is On Me!
What’s going on? It’s about 2 am on the 26th of March, 2011 and I’m in the zone. The computer zone. If you know what that is..If you’re some type of geek like me it’s when you’re jamming to your favorite songs and just vibin to the music and everything you’re doing is just flowing. It’s a Friday night..I should be out and about drinking or something but I’m a loser for the night and don’t mind. Yoooooo, people said “Rolling Papers” was a crap album. Lies. It’s illllllll. I love it – call me commercial I don’t give a f*ck. If it sounds good I’ll listen to it. If you read this blog you probably have seen me write that before.
This year has been quite exciting from the start. It’s really picking up I need to give some more videos of me actually doing stuff. Talking to the camera or something…I don’t do that much too damn lazy. But got some friends in the ends doing camera work as well. In fact I filmed another “Akeem Show” the other day and another guy (N. Stim) shot the behind the scenes and did a sick job! I could learn from him still! Make sure to check that out and you can spot me at work as well. Already know I’m there rocking TPK AKA THE POPULAR KIDS CLOTHING.
Imma be shooting a music video at our little party/get-together aka shindig aka whatyawannacallit. Should be fun – dunno how my lens is gonna act wanna rent a sick one for it but……where the money at? All good.
A Busy Week Lies Ahead.
Sup Famalam?
It’s ya boy Meji checking in from the UK. My next post will be a video post cause I feel like it. Just been all over the place but I kind of asked for it. The Popular Kids as a business is starting to really grow momentum – if you don’t know about us, check the link, read the blog, get a tshirt :p. If you do know about us, keep updated as we’re trying to make little movements here in the UK, and hopefully soon abroad.
This website is slowly becoming a notepad for my random musings..hope you don’t mind?
But yeah, a busy week lies ahead for me. I have to do a few video shoots this week if all works out so that should be live. I think I’m going to do a self photoshoot as well cause I have hundreds of pictures of everyone else and none of me. Me want pics, ya dig? Did you know I have a Tumblr? I barely post on it, but when I do..Reblog me.
Uhhh what else? I want to go do some architectural photography or something get away from the t-shirts and people for awhile….I’ve been doing that too much lately. But I’ve been a little too busy lately. But it is starting to pay off no doubt tho.
365Hustle Photography coming soon! I’m really going to cordon off a certain area of this site so I can pretty much whore myself (camera wise) for money. It’s all good. Money makes the world go round.
I’ll leave you with a pic of my friend. Excuse him while he lights his spliff….

Behind The Scenes of “Rainforest” – Johnny Gunz, Ard Adz, Sainer, and Shallow
Me and a buddy of mine @musicaltiny stayed up last night to throw this together. Let me know what you think….
RIP Nate Dogg
This was my favorite tune he ripped the hook on. Oh NOOOO! RIP my nigga.
What’s Going ON Famalam?
Checking in here. It’s Meji aka Hustler aka Cameraman aka whatever you wanna call me. How’s everyone been? I guess you can leave your answers in the comments to that question. This week I’ve just been taking it easy for the most part. I passed my driving theory test…it was pretty easy no lies I think everyone passes that. So that’s cool – and I’ve started to learn how to drive stick for the most part – it’s also not too difficult once you get over the initial learning curve. I know out there in America driving stick ain’t a big deal (I used to swang the Ford Explorer in Auto) but to me…It’s like a “MAN” skill. I think every guy should know how so I’m glad that I’m learning.
Started a semi-new hustle doing photography for people. It’s not nothing too lucrative but I actually enjoy it so make sure you Like 365HUSTLE Photography on Facebook if you could.
I don’t know if I told you but I bought a car like last month (that’s what I’ve been learning in forget paying for lessons). It’s a little Ford Focus so if you’re in London and see a blue Ford Focus with a black guy that looks like ME make sure you do a two-step or ask for a ride or chunk up a deuce. You know the deal. What else? I threw together a really short video of The Popular Kids performance at Camden Underworld the other night. Make sure you give that a watch, comment, like, and most importantly SUBSCRIBE. I make a guest appearance in it. LOOOOOL. Quite funny.
Whenever You Call Baby I’ll Roll Up
Meji is a busy man but, to be honest, I love being busy. Gives me less time to think about the bullshit that goes on and the things that I am less than satisfied with in my life. I’ve been working mainly on building the brand, my photography portfolio (Like It), my Tumblr, and making these videos. In fact I just completed another episode of The Akeem Show (click here to play) and hopefully I’ll be working on some music videos soon. Doors are opening up and I’m meeting some pretty cool people. I’ll be recording a beatboxer named Intensi-T today. Should be a sick performance.
The Popular Kids clothing is picking up swiftly. UK wise and even in the US as well. Dropping 2 new items on March 2nd so if it’s your style make sure to check it out @ – http://thepopularkids.co.uk
Last but not least
Would you believe I don’t have a drivers license yet in the UK? I take my theory test tomorrow so wish me luck – don’t think I’ll need it though.
365HUSTLE ON TUMBLR – FOLLOW ME!
What’s good people? I’ve been all over the place but I’ve been trying to put together a little photography portfolio – also some videography as I learn and get better with that – but for now mainly photos and projects I do. So I figured I make a TUMBLR. It’s not a new thing really but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to sit down and get everything made like I want to. And I’m barely putting enough time together for that.
But yeah all my photography and such will be going on there (some here too). I’m working on a bunch of things, I want to do a cinematic commercial for our next clothing release. So it should be fun – we’ll see how that goes. Click the picture above to check out 365HUSTLE ON TUMBLR. Pictures will be uploaded regularly. So follow me on it, I’ll follow back.
Kanye West – All Of The Lights ft RiRi & Kid Cudi
This was my anthem for a while. Not a Cudi fan though. New vid..sick.
Meji x The Akeem Show x The Popular Kids
Made this video last night. Got pissed off because I was around an hour and a half into editing and Final Cut crashed. I felt like a prick. So I started over. The Popular Kids crew went out to film the Akeem show the other night at this mall called Westfield. Had a good night out there and I’m kind of happy with this as my first little video show thingy. Yes, it could be better but with time. Thank Tiny for the logo. I can’t design for the life of me. Check it out, have a laugh, let me know what you think.
Meji x The Popular Kids
So I’m sure you guys know I’ve been getting into photography a little bit. Well, a couple of friends locally started a clothing brand and I figured I could help out be being the in-house photographer. Well it definitely turned out to be a lot more than that and a bigger project than I expected. But I’m about challenges and learning as I go so I took it with open arms. So I introduce to you “The Popular Kids” a UK clothing brand created a couple friends of mine who live down the street.

My role has gone from a peripheral role to more of a central one as time went on. I mainly handle the media – so website, photos, and videos etc etc you know the deal. It’s been good for me, because as you know, I recently dumped Nikon for a Canon T2i and fell in love immediately. I’ve gotten to use the camera to take countless pictures and videos for the site and there’s so much more to be done the work never seems to end as we pick up steam.
So I recently saw a girl who was charging people for photos and they were crap (forgive me). So I figured since I have quite a few decent pictures (am I being cocky? They’re okay at least…) I might as well try my hand at making a few quid snapping photos myself. So I will be trying to set up a mini-portfolio on this site as well soon. So the Canon 550D records full HD video. I rarely record in 1080p mostly 720p cause I’m so bad with space management on my computer it’s ridiculous. But within like 2 days of messing with Final Cut I was able to put this together for our first set of t-shirts.
Watch in HD!
It’s nothing special but I was quite proud of it. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to work on taking more videos of acting and such which is something I’d like to do. Or some type of cinematic music videos…those are on my to do list seriously. But in the meanwhile I’ve been filming these freestyles for TPK’s in house music TV channel aka Roadside TV.
Watch in HD!
There’s a bunch of them up so check ‘em out and subscribe. It’s a movement in this UK scene. I’ll keep you updated but your boy Meji is working hard, this time not online but offline. (More fun) Holla.
Who Wants To Make Some Money?
All these holidays and things I go on get expensive but the e-hustle keeps me safe. As most of you know, or who found this site I built it originally as a “Make Money Online” blog but as I moved countries my focus shifted away from sharing information on how to make money online to more of a personal blog where I share my pictures and what not. Well, this is going to change for a limited time because I want to take a few people under my wing for something that can be quite lucrative for all of us.
The #1 thing that stops most people from making money online is because they want everything to come to them for free. You must invest your money in something before you can reap the rewards. With that being said..
I’m not going to type the details here for the whole world to see but at the end of this post I’ll give you an email address where you can contact me. But before then there are a few prerequisites before I choose to work with you.
Here are the things you’ll need:
- It takes money to make money. What I’ll be introducing you takes an initial investment of about $400. If you don’t have that, don’t waste my time or yours please.
- A ready-to-learn and enthusiastic attitude.
- A phone number where I can reach you.
- Willingness to put in a little work.
Send me an email at the email listed on the Contact page if you fit the requirements with your details and we’ll talk and see where we can go from there.
I’m Back From Naija!
Nigeria…..Nigeria….Nigeria…What can I say? It took me 22 years to finally get there but I made it. And I enjoyed my trip so much I had to extend it. I didn’t get as many pictures as I could because honestly..roaming around with a big ass camera is not the business – and it’s not that safe to do in certain areas to be honest. But I did get a few pictures to share with my peoples and plenty of the family.
I spent most of my time in a place called Ilorin in Kwara State. The main reason for me going to Nigeria was for my Grandpas 70th birthday which falls on Christmas Eve….and then I figured I might as well stay for Christmas and the New Year of course. It was hell getting out there because of London being covered in snow…I ended up paying £400 pounds more than I originally planned. But it’s all good because it was worth every penny.
I was staying in the Adualere area of Ilorin. Which isn’t the richest area. We were living quite well because my Grandpa has quite a big house there which his mother built before she died. But people in the surrounding areas obviously weren’t living large…but they were living what I would call a raw, peaceful life, and most if not all of the people I encountered in this area were kind people.
Best part of my trip was probably meeting countless family members that I haven’t had the pleasure to meet. My Grandpa is an amazing and “busy” man so I have plenty of Aunts and Uncles that I’ve never met before. But now I can say I’ve met quite a few of them and they are as nice as I was told. For example, Moses and Lakeside (he calls himself). The above picture to me sums up both of them.
I do see myself returning to Nigeria in the next year definitely to catch up with family and to check out some other things that I took interest in while I was there. Nigeria is a place of many faces just like everywhere else in the world. You have some people living in extreme poverty, and others living quite a wealthy life. I spent some time in 3 cities, Lagos, Ibadan, and Ilorin, but I only got pictures in Ilorin when it was appropriate. Check this guy out he stopped by the house one day.
I don’t feel like writing anymore but I’ll leave you with a few more pictures. Oh yeah if you don’t know 365HUSTLE has a TUMBLR now where I’ll be posting random pictures that I take (mostly) everyday that I don’t feel are worthy or just don’t feel like posting on this site. So make sure to follow me and reblog it and what not
Work Time.
Nigeria Here I Come
Armed with a new Canon t2i/550D and hopefully an eye for a good shot/video. I’ll be going to Nigeria for a Xmas and New Years. My grandpa is reaching the milestone age of 70 which is quite old in Nigeria. The festivities have already started without me but by the time I arrive (fashionably late) they’ll be reaching their peak. I’m actually very excited since I’ve never been before. Got my malaria pills sorted out so I don’t fall victim. Unfortunately I’ve made the crucial decision to let the Macbook Pro stay (14 days without it nooo) but my netbook is going to roll with me.
Brother, sisters, uncles, aunts – I’ll see you soon.
(Not leaving for a few more days so I might sneak in a new post before then)
Holla.
