Dream In Possible
This video shows the minute comparisons between Canons 7D AND 5D and the almighty RED ONE. I really liked it, and the 7D and 5D hold up well….very well. Can’t wait till I get my hands on a MK II…even though the MK III will come out soon. Enjoy the video!
A Hectic Week

Late night editing. That’s the story of my life. Writing this post as a video is rendering while listening to the tune of another music video soon to be shot. Got an awesome Gini Rig that I’ll probably use in that shoot as well. I’m happy though because the song is great and we’re gonna have fun making a sick visual for it. UNI started for a black man (me) this week. My schedule is absolutely ridiculous…but better to be busy than be doing nothing. Redbull (no vodka) ftw.

The rig feels awesome and it is awesome. I’ll be filming with it shortly. Slim to None had to be put on the back burner as life caught up with me. But it’s still in the oven believe that. Anyways I’ll put up a video one of these days of me using the rig.
Expenses Are Secondary If You Have A Vision
I spend a lot of money on different things and I hear a lot from people, and my subconscious occasionally,”Damn, that’s a lot of money.” And most of the time it is. I’ve dived headfirst into an expensive business/hobby and I guess it’s just the way the game is. Besides lenses and camera body’s a lot of camera equipment is possible via DIY and all that. But I don’t have tools or anything! So I just take the less handy route!
But I’ve always been the type to spend if necessary, and I encourage others to do the same. In order for any of us to progress in this life we must have enough resolve to invest in ourselves! If you don’t believe in your ideas enough to invest in yourself then how the hell is anybody else going to invest in you or your business? Maybe you’ll get the odd fool here and there but ultimately it starts with YOU!
Invest in yourself now. Stick to your vision. And reap the rewards later. I’m sure you’ve heard this saying before – You reap what you sow. Sow them seeds nigga. Anyways, enough motivational speaking. I really enjoyed this short film earlier. Isn’t it awesome when a message is conveyed clearly and powerfully, without a word? – Meji.
Holocene – Bon Iver
Refreshing.
Inspiration.
This guy keeps it real. Got me inspired. I love finding inspirations here and there.
Swim Good – Frank Ocean
Now I’m not a fan, but I’m not a hater. I don’t really like OFWGKTA. But this would be the exception….songs great, videos better. Wish I could make something like this one day…
I Made It (Semi-Rant)
Ranting allowed? No? Ok cool.
This has been one of the hardest weeks since I started shooting videos. When you wake up on Monday morning eager to work and just get ish done – and then your hard drive crashes – you know you might be in for it this week. Boy, was I right! I tried to keep the positive thoughts flowing and it eventually rounded off nicely by the end of the week. But lemme tell ya.
Monday – EXTERNAL HD FAILURE. Unrecoverable. Hard drive ended up in the trash. Lost one of my clients jobs! So I guess it’s my fault right? Shoulda backed my stuff up. Alright.
Tuesday – Trekked to East Ham which is the equivalent of a holiday (what do you call a holiday/vacation to a place you don’t really like?) Oh wait, I’m not finished. For some reason we had the bright idea to film on some train tracks..The guy said the train runs once an hour! No one died no..I’m not typing this from heaven. But we all got thrown in jail for like 5 hours and fined and my memory card confiscated for evidence.
Wednesday – Kept my head down dodgin’ demons left and right.
Thursday – Went out filming again to replace the footage that got sent into limbo somewhere in my old external HD. Decent day out but my microphone broke. Sigh. This is where I start playing “Keep Ya Head Up”
Friday – Music Video to shoot. Flopped. The extras were extra unreliable.
But to be honest, I didn’t concentrate on the bullcorn (my 8th grade football coach used to say that. I still crack up) that happened this week and just enjoyed the good parts. Next week is looking healthy already then after that ya boy starts University.
Ahhh… I wish I had imagery for all of this but I don’t take pictures when I’m frustrated. Just imagine how I would be.
Cause You Are My One & Only
I hope at least one person falls in love with this song like I did. Awesome. His album came out today. Ed Sheeran – iTunes that.

Passionate MC – R.A. The Rugged Man Contest Entry
Be prepared to have your mind blown. Passionate MC is an anomaly. Simple.
Rolling Shutter Effect On A 5D MK II
On my daily search for knowledge I was trying to understand the effects of a rolling shutter on DSLR Cameras. Some people don’t film with them because of this problem. I’ve never had to worry about it, but who knows maybe in the future. Either way, it’s pretty sick the way it’s demonstrated here….and I’ve secretly been jamming to this as well. Sick instrument.
Slim To None – Short Film by Meji Alabi

Ever watched a movie? And said…one day I’m going to make one that’s that good. That vivid. I remember watching movies liek hero [with Jet Li] and being overwhelmed by the sheer awesomeness of the cinematography. Now that’s not what I’m bringing to the table here, yet. But I figured I’d try my hand at something.
Now, I don’t have the expertise nor do I have the portfolio for someone to hand over their “prized possession” aka their script that they spent the past year writing for some guy like me to absolutely bastardize it on screen. So, I figured I’d bastardize my own short film! What’s better than that? Slim To None.
Money and love. Two things we need the mo t. The same two things can cause the most hurt in our lives as well. Slim to None takes us through a day in the life through the eyes of a teenager named Alex, where money dramatically changes the course of his love life & friendship.
If all goes according to plan. I’ll be filming in September! Look out for it.
A friend of mine Michael from MCTV will also be helping with filming!
August 19th, 2011 – A Fresh Start
From now on the blog. 365Hustle will be updated regularly! With product reviews of the random gadgets I buy. Video product reviews that is with pictures and what not. It’s just going to be a blog of completely Meji. Updates on my life etc etc. I’ve been a lazy bum, and neglecting my baby. And there will be no more of that. Expect updates coming from me soon. I’ll be carrying my DSLR with me everywhere from now on. – Meji
The Epitome Of Awesomeness
I want everyone to watch this. And see how awesome it is. It’s shot with a Phantom Flex
Here’s a little more on the camera.
The Phantom Flex offers an unprecedented degree of flexibility in all areas of high-speed image capture, and goes beyond HD to support 4-megapixel imaging, when the highest resolution is required. Depending on the shooting mode and resolution, the Flex is capable of shooting from 5 fps to over 10,750 fps.
The Phantom Flex offers two user-selectable shooting modes, each adapted to a particular shooting environment. In Standard Mode, the Phantom Flex is just like any other Phantom digital high-speed camera. Shoot at resolutions up to 2560×1600 pixels at anywhere from 10 frames-per-second up to 1,455 frames-per-second (fps). Maximum speed increases as the resolution decreases – up to 2,570 fps at 1920×1080, 5,350 fps at 1280×720, and 10,750 fps at 640×480.
You can rent it for $2500 a day. Or buy one if you got a spare $50k-$100k sitting around. No biggie. Anyway, enjoy the video and see what these guys managed to record in just 8 hours.
Hawsome..with an H.
Meike FC100 & CN-126 LED Light Ghetto Review
I was testing out the new Magic Lantern and I figured I might as well make a video while testing it. It’s not bad you know. Check out my ghetto extremely half assed first review. But I liked it. So I’ll be doing more of these which each item I get.
