I Love Quickies

25/05/10

So I did a diving header and like an asshole I landed on my hand and jammed 4 fingers. It hurts badly and I can barely stand to type. Oh well, 5 more days left in this month trying to hustle out every single dollar. This is a little quickie, I’ll give y’all a full session next time. Oh, by the way some of you who check my Flickr may have seen this but for those of you who don’t…. I took an HDR picture the other day and I was quite proud of it…check it out.

Follow The Lights

setup Follow The Lights
Got there a little early. Bought a really cheap £8 tripod off of eBay, posted up with some apple pies a random guy gave me, and waited pretty much.

About the photo – It was my first time trying to do a long exposure shot. There wasn’t much activity on the left side of the freeway which was a little disappointing. Had fun nonetheless, met some cool people up there. Holla at me.

Nike Write The Future – World Cup Fever Time

20/05/10

If World Cup Fever hasn’t hit you yet, it definitely will infect you after this video. Absolutely amazing, inspiring, and just down right badass. Hats off to Nike. If you’re not a soccer fan, you can see the feeling and emotion it incites in an entire country watching this commercial. Like at the beginning when Drogba cooly chips the goal keeper only for that last ditch bicycle kick off the line by Cannavaro. It’s that serious. Change a whole country’s mood in an instant….Anyways, you probably watched the video instead if reading this which is what I would have done. Holla!

A Few Words…

20/05/10

I don’t know how good I am at inspiring people through words or through actions. I don’t think I’m that good at all but I do think I can write words that make sense if given a little thought. I don’t know where I’ll be in 2 years or 2 weeks, I could just be working a regular 9 to 5 and be perfectly happy. Who knows? But I’m going to speak for NOW and what I wish to be a part of.

Anyways, 10 years ago there was no Myspace, no Facebook, no Youtube. There was pretty much nothing of lasting significance on the internet. Those people had dreams, ideas, and balls to implement them. I see the internet as a 2nd world where you can connect with others, find an abundance of information, etc etc.. It’s also a place where people conduct their businesses and make millions daily. Everyday a new star is born. The great thing about the internet though is it’s relatively young, less than 20 years old. When it comes to mainstream use I’d say it’s barely 10 years old. Which means that it still has hundreds of years to evolve and you and I are lucky enough to catch it so early in its history. Youtube recently only turned 5 years old. Word? What the hell were we doing for videos before then? Yahoo or Real Player? No thanks.

So what I’m saying with this post is that, contrary to popular belief. everything HASN’T been done. If you have an idea and it sounds farfetched, don’t be afraid to follow it because the potential rewards almost always outweigh the risk. Who knew social networking would blow up to be what it is today with all these powerhouses involved. Who knows how long they’ll last until the next thing comes along? Just some food for thought is what this post is. I’m going to be working on developing a few ideas in the future…how about you?

You’re here at the beginning of a revolution. Take advantage!

Eyjafjallajökull Volcanic Eruption – Beautiful

16/05/10

Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull – May 1st and 2nd, 2010 from Sean Stiegemeier on Vimeo.

I saw this over on Yin & Yang and after watching it I had no choice but to post it here for those who haven’t seen it. If you can go and watch it in HD over on Vimeo – it’s absolutely amazing. As a lover of all things beautiful I couldn’t help but appreciate this piece of art. Check it out for youself….Hope it doesn’t ruin my holiday though, the skies have been quiet over West London this weekend.

$1 X 1000 > 1000 X $1 – Feel Me?

12/05/10

offerSS $1 X 1000 > 1000 X $1 Feel Me?

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

As I said in a few posts before I’ve been trying to get my paper up because I’m taking a month off (I’ll still be hustling) in June to chill with my friends. So I’ve gotten into ad hustling kind of and just want to catch you guys up with a few of my results. But first let me kind of explain the title. It doesn’t really make sense but it does in a way. In high school me and all my friends almost never paid for our own lunch. Everyday we stood next to the coke machines (when cokes were 75c) and asked people for their quarters everyday. Most people gladly gave you the quarter and once I had about $2.25 I was eating the best lunch we had, with a sprite (I don’t drink coke). But when I asked someone “yo lemme borrow $3 bucks for lunch” no one had shi*.

peerfly $1 X 1000 > 1000 X $1 Feel Me?

So anyways I’ve been using Peerfly lately to push a few email and zip submits because out of all the sites I’m on they pay the highest rates in that vertical. I must say I have had relative success I’d say for the short time I’ve been doing this. At first when I started out I was trying to push the paid offers, but I was having a hard time because people are still very suspicious about busting out their credit card on the internet. You know the best scams are done in person? To me, a real life con man who can look you in your eye and scam your thong off your ass > an internet con man all day.

So I wasn’t getting a piece of the birthday cake so I changed it up and started pushing email and zip submits and the money started rolling in and it’s been going quite well for a month now. Nothing special but I was I pretty happy with the results, there’s definitely potential. But you see what I’m saying I’m sure. Rather than targeting the big bucks, I’ve gone for little money over and over and over again. So that’s a challenge to you, sign up to Peerfly or whatever network you’re using, find a cheap offer, and push it to as many people as you can (pay attention to the terms of the offer), and make money. Simple.

Trying to get used to this new lens. It’s a learning thing. Favorite pic I’ve taken so far though although it could be better.
