And it was awesome as was the finale. Wesley Sneijder was noble in defeat. I wanted Spain to win after all my interests were knocked out.
Spain has some of my favorite players in world football. With the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, and Xabi Alonso in the midfield you just can’t go wrong. Sick team. A group of better guys couldn’t have one it.

I can never seem to do a place justice through photography. I feel like it’s something I have to do while I’m rolling by myself because most of the time the people I’m with don’t understand that it takes time to make a masterpiece! But no excuses for failure, I’ll have to do better next time. Here are some pictures from Tunis with a little commentary to go with them.
Before June I hadn’t seen a quality beach for maybe 10 years. Galveston Beach in Texas has dookie brown water. You don’t know what the hell is under you and feel things hitting you all the time. It’s pretty gross to be honest. Last time I was there July 4th ‘09 some lady came out the water screaming and her foot was like sliced open…probably stepped on her glass. We then watched a fireworks show and they had seated us too close to the fireworks..so our section was getting rained on by little firework meteorites – that was fun as hell though.
Anyways. I spent lots of time at the beach. I didn’t swim that much though honestly. In Barcelona I spent most of my time at the beach playing beach football….but I got injured so I couldn’t play at all in Tunis. I take periodic dips if you know what I’m saying. Tunis was a nice city although time restraints and bad planning (not on my part) really didn’t allow me to see the city in it’s full glory. What I loved is that the water was visible from like everywhere it seemed. Maybe it’s just cause of where we were I don’t know.
I did get see a lot of the historical sites since his Uncle came through and drove us around. We did watch quite a bit of football in nice little cafes. We got kicked off a train cause we didn’t want to pay 50 cents for a ticket (don’t ask why)…and chilled on the tracks for like an hour – guess the other train didn’t want to come. So with my beat up Vans and ashy legs, we made our own entertainment for awhile.
After a few nights in Tunis (no partying involved) we left the big city for one of the main tourist hotspots in Tunisia – Hammamet. We stayed in Yasmine Beach hotel. Since my friend was Tunisian he was getting some hate from people because they thought he couldn’t afford to be there. They thought he was one of the locals but besides that it was all love. Yasmine Beach is the one of the nicest beaches I can remember – gotta roll back out there one of these days.
We hit up this place called Carthage Land which was pretty cool but everything overpriced for the tourists of course. I didn’t really buy anything but took a picture with the elephants – fake ones unfortunately.
Fun trip. Video soon. Hustle posts next. Tired of writing. Be easy.

I pretty much didn’t take any good pics in Barcelona. Maybe a few. It’s a great party city though, and it’s also a great tourist city. It’s just a great city, I’d love to live there one day. Visit Barça if you ever get a chance.
Onto Siliana – I thought we were going to Tunis for the whole time my friend kind of pulled one of those “SURPRISE MOTHERF*CKA” moments and flipped the script on a brethren. But I rolled with it cause we were in his country and all, man had to see his family right? Both of the 2 posts below were taken on the road to Siliana, a small town in central Tunisia.
Siliana is what I call the simple life. Because it is quite simple. It’s the escape to the country from the big city. It’s the place where everyone knows each other, and you can’t do certain things, or be seen with certain people because word spreads around the town. It’s the place where you buy bread from the same guy every morning for years and he knows your whole family. I had never really been anywhere like that so removed from the city life. It was so cheap for like 30 cents I could get a sandwich that filled half my belly.
I grew a little Nomad Beard channeling energy from my boy Andrew aka the Football Nomad.
My friend took me through the centre of Siliana and I was sitting in the back of a truck, and it was hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable but that all added to the flavor.
Although I didn’t get a picture. One thing I loved about Siliana and Tunisia as a whole is at night you can see every single star. And the moon actually lights up the sky. It’s something us who live in the city never really get to see that often…Cool.
When you see him ask him why he’s holding that plastic bag?
There isn’t a nightlife here but I wasn’t expecting one really. Chill at a cafe, smoke some shisha, drink some tea, and pretty much converse with fellow individuals. After that go home, get something to eat, meet back up later and talk shit ’til early hours in the morning. Thank God the World Cup was playing it gave us a new match to watch every day. That was the blessing of June I got to watch a World Cup match in 3 different countries.
I met a few friends out there through my other friend. Some of them had surprisingly good English, others I needed my friend to translate. But we were all on the same wavelength and had a good time.
I really loved Siliana. I went less as a tourist and more as an extended member of my friends family. And they treated me as one too which was great. I saw things that tourists wouldn’t be able to see and met plenty of people in the town. To be honest I think if I was dropped there today, I’d know enough people to live quite well out there.
And I leave you with… Nizar…this is not the last you’ll see of him.

I hate not posting on my blog so here goes. I had planed to come home and cover my trip…mostly Barcelona and Tunisia then jump right back into hustling when….my MacBook (of all things) had like a catastrophic hard drive failure and I had to scrape it to get all my data back.
Now my data is separated in about 2000 files and I have to going each file and open them one by one and drag pictures and other files out. I’m going to lose a lot of stuff but I didn’t want to lose my pictures so…Bare with me. I’ve been spending a lot more than I’ve been making – the hustle is quite dry but never too dry though. Stick around I got post coming up within the next few days or a week.
Wish me luck cause this was some bullshit. And if you emailed me, I just got all my emails like, 2 days ago cause they pile up when I’m abroad (I should get an international data plan) so I will email you back. As you can tell I’m a little overloaded but…that’s the life of a G. Holla.

Out the window when I was heading from Tunis to Siliana. My friend told me this was part of an aqueduct I think that lead from these mountains to Tunis to give fresh water to a king. Cool.

My ears pop like a mothef*cker. Ever since I was a kid I’ve had this problem. And then I feel deaf for like 3 days after landing. I don’t know why. I’ve chewed gum and all those remedies. It used to work. Now I’m resigned to feeling like someones cooking popcorn in my fucking head on ascents and descents. I still like to fly though, it’s part of the whole experience.

Had a good time out there in Spain. We started out in Lloret de Mar. It’s a cool little coastal city on the Costa Brava. It’s pretty damn good but it also depends on what you’re going out there for. We pretty much just chilled and partied in this city. We were only here for 4 days and we missed out flight so it was a little more like 3. I’m not the best at taking pictures to record memories but when I get somewhere with unlimited bandwidth (not my house) I’m going to fill up my Flickr with a set from Espana.

Lloret is quite small and full of people looking to party. If you’re trying to be surrounded by Spanish people and go on like a traditional Spanish trip I probably wouldn’t have gone here. Here was our schedule for the first few days: Beach – Party – Sleep – Beach – Party – Sleep. The beach looks nice, and it is nice. But it ain’t sand. It’s shingles, these little tiny rocks.

Our hotel didn’t like us, we made too much noise or something. It was us, and old people. Lloret had a strip of just clubs, and beach, places to eat, some rocks, lots of watersports, and hotels. A city made for fun.

So we paid 40 euros for unlimited beer and unlimited sangria and food on this boat ride with our guide named Julio. Think of like the cliche Spanish guy named Ricardo that you see on TV, and then change his name to Julio. Thats him. At the end of the boat ride he started dancing, swiveling his hips, and being fruity. I’d have joined in as everyone else was doing the Macarena but I was too sick from the cheap Sangria. The picture above is Lloret from the boat, and the picture below is me and Salim after snorkeling to a set of rocks. Breathing kind of underwater was a surreal experience for someone like me. I was hyperventilating till I got the hang of it.

Stupid lamppost.

And in those little shops. Never pay full price for anything, they be trying to rip you off. Can’t hustle a hustler ya get me. And people over here be hustling hard as hell.
*JUST WANTED TO UPDATE MY EMAIL WENT OUT OF COMMISSION FOR A FEW DAYS WHILE I WAS THERE. IT WORKS NOW.
